Away On Holiday: Graffiti

Just one more post about our lovely holiday. Going to Sardinia I expected the towns and villages that we visited to be quaint and picturesque. I thought about derelict buildings and vespa’s. But somehow I never thought about modern day stuff like graffiti. Then when we visited Cagliari (Capital of Sardinia) I was kind of suprised by the amount of graffiti and I ended up photographing them a lot more then all of the old stuff (churches and what not) together!

I also feel in love with this one artist and had a lot of fun spotting his/her pieces. I loved the crazy fishes, ships and other weird spikey entities I found on the walls of Cagliari. I even played a detective a little bit and did a Google search to find out who was behind those great pieces. And I even found him! He works under the name Crisa and if you also like his stuff, you can found out more about him here and look at more work here.

Excuse the blurriness of the photo, I took it from a moving car, the Sardinian traffic craziness really didn’t allow us to stop!

Away on Holiday

Though Autumn has fully started here in the Netherlands, we played a little trick on Autumn and hopped over to Sardinia for a much needed holiday. The boyfriend, Mini and me had a blast. Great weather, great beaches, a lot of old stuff to visit (I really am a sucker for nifty archeological finds) and the colours! Not only the sea and the sky were the deepest blue, but the houses too were bold and colourful in pinks, blues, greens and even lilacs. This is what I saw…

And finally a thing rarely seen here, a picture of me having fun in the waves. This happened to be one of the few times I wasn’t holding the camera (wouldn’t have been a very good idea if I had!)

On A Holiday…

Yesterday was the first day of our holiday. And I’m already loving it. Being near the sea is a nice change from being surrounded by boxes! We’re staying on my parents’ boat, so we’re actually on the water instead of near it. Sleeping on a boat is always very soothing to me. But even the first day was quite relaxing. After a grey sky came a beautiful blue one. So we had a lovely day just playing on the boat (with some animals).
